*TITLE: JAVA ARCHITECT** * Location: Arkansas Duration: 6 months Technical Expert to participate in design and development activities of Global eCommerce projects Role: Technical Expert / Solutions Architect Experience 10 yrs Desired POSITION PROFILE (Position/Department Responsibilities) The eCommerce Technical Expert is responsible for leading technology projects to lead the Multi-channel eCommerce strategy. This position will be responsible for the system level architecture of systems used at store level to facilitate in-store picking and fulfillment for eCommerce orders. The Technical Expert is expected to have in-depth knowledge of eCommerce technologies and technologies used on mobile and handheld devices. The Technical Expert is expected to stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and identify opportunities to implement these new technologies to achieve strategic advantages. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE • Architect store systems for multi-channel eCommerce • Define and lead technical strategies for multi-channel eCommerce • Convert business requirements into workable technical solutions • Provide leadership and direction to solutions integrators and software vendors • Participate in strategic projects in a system level architect role • Perform research and development activities and execute proof of concept projects • Create and review project plans • Interface directly with business customers for requirements, design, and project status reporting MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION • 10+ years experience designing/architecting software solutions • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) • Proficiency in Java, J2EE • Experience developing applications for WebSphere • Experience with Microsoft VB.NET and/or C# • Experience with mobile / handheld technologies • Experience with .NET Mobile Framework • Expertise in project management and fluent in the waterfall methodology • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology and direction • Ability to interact with diverse groups of technical and non-technical people • Must be able to communicate to senior executives internally and externally • Effective use of reading, writing, oral communications skills, presentation techniques, meeting mechanics, and team building techniques • Available for travel up to 30% domestic/international ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience designing systems to be used by personnel in retail stores • Experience with the Sterling Order Management System • Experience with .NET technologies, Silverlight • Java Certifications EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS • Bachelors Degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science or Equiv.
