Position Title: Mainframe Systems Programmer and Administrator Location: New York, NY Duration: 14 months (client could have a 35 hrs work week) Mainframe Systems Programming and Administration z/VM z/LINUX PKI Need candidates LOCAL to NYC/NJ. Or the vendor should be able to fly the consultant at vendor expense for F2F interview The individual must be experienced and technically qualified IBM eServer zSeries z/990 mainframe based z/VM, z/LINUX and public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security related Systems Programmers and Administrators. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. * A Specialist III Mainframe Systems Programming and Administration z/VM, z/LINUX, LDAP, WebSphere application server, Edge Server and Workload Management, TCP/IP and PKI minimum experience of 8-10 years mainframe based. * Architectural design, development, deployment, and maintenance of z/VM and z/LINUX systems. Program products, Applications systems and administration. * Resource planning and organization and leadership of team meetings. * Ability to work with and communicate verbally and written with people at all levels. * Manage projects and tasks from initial creation, development, and deployment through implementation. Excellent writing skills DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE * Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner * Experience in working in Government related projects and specific law enforcement projects would be plus. The individual in this role is responsible for providing the z/OS, z/VM, z/LINUX and security related technical expertise necessary to maintain and support these computer systems and applications vital to day-to-day functioning of the Department. Several of these mission critical application systems have no tolerance for down time or loss of data integrity and operate in a High availability (HA) architecture environment. Our IBM z/Architecture s/390 z/990 based mainframe*s run z/OS in a parallel sysplex environment and z/VM z/LINUX in a HA environment. These resources need to be technically qualified with IBM eServer ZSeries z/990 mainframe based hardware and operating system and associated program product software to include; * z/OS systems and DB2 UDB forS/390 knowledge, DB2 Connect, LDAP and Security with principal and high level expertise in z/VM and z/LINUX Operating Systems, associated IBM program products, and third party (OEM) products to include Workload Management, EDGE Server and Workload Balancing, WebSphere, Java and Application Servers, Open File systems, Database Connectivity, TCP/IP and Network Management, LDAP, iTIM, RACF iTIM interface and PKI security related management. * These resources will also provide technical expertise, consultation and leadership to the architectural design, development, deployment, support, performance and tuning, problem analysis, identification and determination through resolution and maintenance of the z/VM z/LINUX operating systems and associated program products, workload management, application and database virtual servers in a HA environment and PKI implementation and management.
