Position: Mainframe Developer Location: Middletown, CT Duration : 6 Months We have a present client requirement for a Mainframe Developer.
- Mainframe COBOL, DB2, Stored Procs, CICS, MQ Responsible for application architecture and design, testing, debugging and documentation. - Directs Development Life Cycle. - Leads or acts as chief technical contributor to translation of business requirements to technical specifications. - Responsible for setting direction with Code Asset Management for an application or applications. - Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization. - Leads or acts as the chief technical contributor in the design of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchased solutions in accordance with Enterprise wide strategy. - Lead or acts as senior technical contributor in all or portions of the selection, evaluation, and integration of externally available application software to deliver business system solutions. - Oversees unit and integrated complete system testing, according to detailed plans to ensure high-quality systems. - Supports the implementation of system into production including integration of purchased solutions. - Serves as team leader to direct technical activities (including analysis, planning, architecture, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of support systems for business areas). - May be called upon to code when need & opportunity arises. - May have quality assurance review responsibilities. - Coaches and trains other team members, end users and peers. - At request of manager, may provide input to hiring and performance decisions. - Utilizes accepted methodology & tools in a disciplined manner, which may include execution of key technical reviews at project gates/milestones. - Supervision Received: Receives general direction from the Business Systems Unit Manager Supervision Exercised: Assists in all phases of team leadership and may perform management functions in the absence of the Manager or may act as technical lead for major projects.
