Architect. Please send me your consultants resume along with rates and
contact details.

Location: NJ

1.1 Background
The network infrastructure consists of various technologies and
products based on the business drivers. All the products and services
which are implemented are managed and supported by Engineering and
Operations. Architecture team is responsible for fine tuning and
researching new trends and certifying new products/technologies in the
following areas. Please note that the scope of architecture team is
not limited to the technologies identified below, the list below
consists of current production usage.

· Network Design – The network is designed based on the
hierarchical model of access, distribution, core and edge layers. The
architecture team is responsible for making any changes to the design
standard and addition of any new class of service in the current
network.

· QoS, CoS, Route filtering, VoIP and policy based routing is
used to improve performance. Deployment of this is limited and Network
Architecture is tasked with reviewing current class of services and
providing improved design.

· Protocols and Services – Following protocols and services
are used within the RETS network. FTP, TFTP, DNS, DHCP, ICMP, SSH,
SNMP, NTP, Telnet and Trace route

· Routing – BGP, EIGRP and OSPF are the dynamic routing
protocols used along with static routing.

· Redundancy is provided within the network layer using HSRP
and MHSRP.

· In the switching network Spanning tree, Port Fast, Port
Channelling, VLANs, Trunking, VTP, Multicast, Broadcast, MLS and VLAN
Tagging are used.

· Load Balancing – F5 BIG IP and Cisco CSS/CSM load balancing
hardware is used.

· Riverbed WAN accelerators

· Network security is implemented using ACLs and distribution
lists. Authentication is provided using TACACS and RADIUS. SSH is used
for secure logon into network devices.

· Tools – The Network engineering team uses the following
tools. (Please note this is just for informational purpose, please
verify actual list from Network Engineering/Operations.

o Sniffers – Sniffer Pro and Wild Packets

o Netscout probes and monitoring and troubleshooting

o HP OpenView, Cisco Works and E-Health.

o F5 Enterprise manager

o Packet storm, IXIA with Chariot clients and Compuware’s
application vantage are used in test/certification labs.

· Research and evaluate new infrastructure and technologies

· Proactively participate in technology organizations for
networking and information gathering opportunities

Formal Architecture Reviews and Standards –

· Investigate solutions to meet stakeholder requirements

· Research and evaluate new infrastructure and technologies
