This is Mac from Keeninfotek *Title : **Data Modeler* Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 6 Months Rate: Open (ALAP) Description: *Skills & Experience:* - Proven data architecture and data modeling skills including demonstrated expertise managing data requirements, data flow diagramming, and conceptual data modeling skills including Logical and physical design using ER methodologies and Data warehouse/ data mart design skills. - Strong dimensional modeling skills (star/snowflake) with experience designing conformed dimensions for a large enterprise in addition to normalized modeling skills. - Extensive experience in OLTP, ODS, and OLAP design patterns with an emphasis on conformed dimension design. - Proven ability to work with the ETL team to understand the source/target data mapping and with the BI/Reporting team to ensure entities/attributes needed for reporting plan is being captured in accordance to timeline. Working knowledge of BI tools is a plus. - OR Strong operational modeling skills with demonstrated experience in designing structures for complex, high volume transactional systems. - Proven experience creating enterprise models incorporating master and reference data. - Data access and service design experience is a big plus. - Familiarity with industry standard modeling tools such as Erwin. - Good SQL skills on most major DBMS platforms (DB2, Oracle, SQLServer, Teradata). - Strong facilitation skills to engage subject matter experts to define data requirements and conduct data modeling design reviews with project teams. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain and document the Enterprise Information Architecture to diverse audiences (technical, business, etc). - Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions. *Desirable:* - Experience in real time data warehousing to a normalized target data structures - Master data management experience - Proven experience in developing information architectures aligned information lifecycle management - Experience in creation of data dictionaries, defining metadata management approaches and governance processes. - Experience in developing and implementing IT architecture plans, Enterprise Information Architecture standard and guidelines, software development methodologies and strategic plans. - Experience in developing data sharing standards and architecting scalable service oriented solutions - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain and document the Enterprise Information Architecture to diverse audiences (technical, business, etc). - Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions. *Responsibilities:* This person will operate as a member of the internal Data Architecture team, and be responsible for producing required deliverables for data analysis and data architecture as defined by Client’s SDLC. Primary responsibility is to support Business Intelligence reporting efforts by designing new data models and integrating them into the existing data warehouse model.
