Location: NYC Duration: 6 + months Rate: open The resource assigned will have the following qualifications: . At least 5 yrs experience supporting UNIX/Linux based applications, OS and hardware . Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS/SSL, SNMP, IP Routing Protocols, Apache Web Server, Scripting, CISCO routers and switches, and SQL . Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment . Possess strong analytical thinking with problem solving skills . University degree in related discipline . Strong written and verbal communication skills need to support over phone. Objectives: Contractor will provide following services: 1. Production Support for the HTTP Streaming system 2. Identify and resolve system-wide issues on the Linux market data servers and data delivery networks (LAN and WAN) 3. Work on technically challenging projects to design, implement and manage specialized support technologies and activities 4. Test the software functionality and security administration of the Linux servers and develop support tools for the servers 5. Perform scheduled system upgrades using the change management system. Test and validate post software deployment 6. Isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software 7. Analyze system performance data such as error logs, system logs and other diagnostic and fault isolation tools to identify problem issues, taking corrective action as necessary 8. Utilize monitoring tools to monitor system, application and network behaviour and performance 9. Report design reliability and maintenance problems or "bugs" to design engineering/software engineering teams 10.
