Need: Business Analyst Position Type: Contract Location: New York, NY Description: Position Description Seeking a Business Analyst to support the implementation of critical Fixed Income Research Analytical Web Portal projects within the Research division. This position will be part of the Technology Management team within the Research business unit and reports to the Project Manager responsible for the web portal. The Research Technology team consists of project managers and business analysts who manage a variety of technology initiatives on behalf of the business unit, working closely with users (Research Analysts, Editors, Publishers) and management, as well as our colleagues in IT in the development, support and training areas. The team is responsible for requirements gathering, prototype design, use case creation, user acceptance testing, and ongoing product ownership for the critical Research technologies that support the department's core business processes. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in website/portal design and implementation, as well as a strong understanding of fixed income data and analytics. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end product ownership, from requirements gathering and analysis, through implementation, and post implementation support. The candidate will be responsible for defining business requirements, interacting with clients, working with development managers/teams, conducting user acceptance testing and collaborating with other Fixed Income product group website owners. Specific responsibilities include: * Gather, develop and own requirements for fixed income research analytical web projects, and work with IT counterparts to ensure these requirements are delivered successfully and on schedule * Contribute to the design of Fixed Income charts, graphs and calculators, ensuring correct mathematical functionality of requirements and achieving high levels of usability * Analyze and define detailed data requirements for complex instruments and derivative securities * Work with fixed income research analysts, sales teams, and management to gather business requirements * Monitor and report on project status to Project Manager, VP and CTO of Research Technology, meet deadlines and escalate issues as required Skills Required * Experience with designing and implementing websites and portals * Experience with fixed income data and analytics (interest rates, structured credit, high yield and investment grade, FX and/or commodities) * Strong background in business analysis and requirements documentation, excellent attention to detail * Proficient in developing business requirements, use cases, and user acceptance testing cases/plans * Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills * Strong problem-solving capabilities; ability to come up with solutions for complex business problems * Self-starter with can-do attitude, and a strong client focus * Experience with Research, Investment Banking or Financial Services * Prior experience on global projects / global systems implementations * Excellent MS Office skills, in particular Excel * Experience with MS Project and MS Access * Knowledge of SDLC best practices and familiarity with all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering through design, development, deployment, and support Skills Highly Desired BA in Finance or Computer Sciences desired Liju George Thomas Aim Computer Consulting N.
