Our client is an insurance company looking for a DB2 Developer with experience 
working on Java applications. This is a long term contract. We are NOT looking 
for a DBA, this is a pure developer position.

Position: DB2 Developer with Java Exp.

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Please do not submit me DB2 DBA.

 

Description of Work:

Analyze and define a data feed to pull policy and transactional details from 
the corporate database for Home and Commercial Auto products.  The Java 
application to pull similar feeds is already developed and will be reused for 
these projects.  The main efforts will be to analyze the corporate data and 
identify components required for each line of business and to complete 
iterative testing with the business.  These tasks require superior analytical 
and communication skills.

 

Skills Required:

  a.. Superior database query skills 
    a.. Must possess the ability to write optimized complex queries against 
DB2. 
  b.. Superior analytical skills 
    a.. Must be able to analyze existing data and identify components required 
for the feeds. 
  c.. Proficient in Java development 
    a.. The Java application that will be used for these tasks already exists.  
The ability to modify the existing application as necessary is required but 
Java design skills are not a high priority. 
  d.. Excellent communication skills 
    a.. Communication with differing STG and business groups is required during 
the analysis and testing phases of the project.
