Position Title: NetApp Storage Admin Location: Albany, NY Duration: 18+ Months Mandatory Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years of experience installing, configuring, and administrating NetApp NAS Storage environment At least one year of that experience must be within the last 24 months. Minimum of two (2) years experience with Storage System design, performance analysis, capacity planning and disaster recovery planning Desirable Experience: Currently holds NetApp Certification (NCDA/NCIE) Experience administering a storage environment for Microsoft exchange Experience administering a storage environment for file services Experience with Active Directory Configuration and Administration Experience and solid understanding of protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FC, ISCSI, and NDMP Experience with snapvault, snapshot and snap mirror configuration Experience with IBM N-Series storage controllers Experience with Storage tools such as DFM and VFM Experience installing and configuring vfiler, qtree Experience installing, configuring and administering a windows DFS system Experience with Microsoft iscsi software initiator configuration Experience with windows 2003 cluster configurations Experience with NDMP and Veritas backup and restore procedures Experience with scripting languages such as VBScript Experience working on a project team in a large, complex, data processing environment Job Description: This position is performing essential Network Attached Storage analysis, design and migration strategies. In addition, ongoing maintenance and support of the enterprise environment is required. The following upgrades and activities need to be undertaken during the next eighteen months. New initiatives which require the implementation of a new NAS storage solution: The replacement of the de-supported HP Pathworks file services utilizing the NetApp File Services architecture that is both administered and supported within the Network Storage Administration group This initiative will include the classification and migration of all current file services data and applications and the incorporation of a new backup and archival solution. The implementation of Desktop Standardization which will enable OMRDD to remove sensitive HIPPA information from local computer drives and redirect it to the File Services architecture located in our centralized data center The migration of our de-supported All-In-One email platform to an enterprise 2007 Microsoft Exchange solution. This initiative involves the storage of the Exchange platform, the implementation of both a new backup methodology with both onsite and offsite storage and a new Archival solution that resides on the NAS architecture administered by the Network Storage Administration group.
