Position Title: Database Analyst / Programmer Senior Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 6 months Temp to Perm Position ---Local Candidates Strongly Preferred---- ---ONLY EAD's or GC's or Citizens--- Job Description: The Database Analyst/Programmer Senior, under general direction, designs, implements and maintains complex Oracle databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. This includes the maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of database systems through database design and is competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database management. The Database Analyst/Programmer Senior writes, runs, and troubleshoots SQL code including stored procedures and provides installation, problem resolution, operational support to administrators and end users, warehouse management, and other complex networked applications. The core duties of the Database Analyst/Programmer Senior include: * Define, design, implement, monitor, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, repair and disaster recovery of DB systems, specifications and applications at customer locations. * Propose and implement database operations and support procedure automation. * Define and maintain system standards, reliability and performance requirements for production operations. * Maintain DB versions and assist in certifying front end applications to these versions. * Administer production DB systems and applications. * Adhere to database standards, documentation and naming conventions to ensure consistency in database creation and processes. * Document all database related processes. * Develop working relationships with developers, IT, technical support, system and network administrators, operators and customers. * Monitors performance of databases and database servers after implementation. * Design and execution of Disaster Recovery failover and cutback plan on databases * Designs the Security Administration model for Certification and Accreditation. * Designs and implement data replication and stored procedures. * Creates and follows change control procedures and documents new database applications and changes to existing environment. * Develops and executes software validation protocols, unit testing, and reports. * Documents database environment and architecture. * Deploys software releases into staging and production during release cycle. * Provide architectural direction in collaboration with development team The Database Analyst/Programmer Senior will typically possess a four year degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent work experience as well as a minimum of 5-8 years related experience with emphasis in the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple project teams simultaneously; experience as a Oracle Server DBA and high transactional high availability production environment, and solid experience writing SQL queries/stored procedures. Superior database administration skills and effective written and verbal communication skills as well as J2EE programming, and command scripts experience are within the Database Analyst/Programmer Senior's skill set as well as experience maintaining, analyzing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries, stored procedures, indexes, and triggers.
