Java Engineer:

Houston, TX. 

(Initial 6 months contract and then hire)

DESCRIPTION
Client is seeking a senior Java software engineer. This position will be
involved with building modern web portal replacing existing set of web
applications for payment systems. The portal features include management of
customer registration, accounts, client setup, virtual hosting, legacy
interface, integration of Content Management, Business Intelligence systems,
web services etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze, design and code new and existing implementations. Manage internal
relationships gathering data and writing requirements and supporting
development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Required Experience/Skills:
- 5 to 7+ years of core Java development experience.
- 3 to 5 years of web development experience in a Java environment.
- Experience with Java portal development and administration.
- Spring Framework experience.
- Java, JSR-168/286, SQL, AJAX, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Tomcat
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Desired Experience/Skills:
- Spring MVC, Spring Portlet MVC experience.
- ORM Framework experience (iBATIS or equivalent).
- Software version control system experience.
- Software architecture skills.
- Design Patterns.
- Experience with open source development systems and tools, e.g. Liferay,
eclipse, YUI, CVS, Maven, ANT
- Knowledge of classic ASP, ASP.Net, C/C++ socket programming applications
in Unix environment, etc are plus.
