Title: Senior EMC Documentum and Configuration Management Developer
Location: TX
Duration: 6 months
Rate: $DOE
We interviewed two of the best candidates, but found them to be very
'administrator-centric', not developers who can integrate the product with
our CM tool.
Summary
Configuration Management Tools Developer needed to automate delivery of
content to EMC Documentum repository. Candidate must have EMC Documentum and
Configuration Management expertise. Candidate must have ClearQuest
development experience, including demonstrated ability to use CQAPI and Perl
scripting expertise. Individual must have understanding of system
development lifecycle and be able to thoroughly document work. Experience
with ClearCase required.
Individual responsible for Configuration Management Tools development in
support of Software Builds, Source Control, Change Control, and Application
Deployments. The Configuration Management Tool Developer must be able to
work with and across all functional application teams. Must possess an in
depth understanding of current development processes and application
dependencies and be skilled in all phases of the software development
lifecycle. This individual should be able to effectively communicate with
his or her peers, managers and clients.
Duties
? Quickly acquire a thorough understanding of the current software
infrastructure and workflow.
? Flexibly adapt code to iterative requirement changes. Recommend best
practices and solutions for problem resolution.
? Partner with external teams as necessary to achieve development objectives
- ability to communicate with other technical staff imperative.
? Thorough understanding of Configuration Management duties and
responsibilities, history tracking, segregation of duties, and compliance.
? Understanding of release management process, change control process,
application components, databases and infrastructure.
? Strive to automate every aspect of the release process to save time,
improve accuracy, and promote repeatability of the builds. Create, maintain,
and improve programs and scripts to automate and support software
development life cycle development process, to generate software quality
matrixes.
? Analyze and provide problem resolution on technical issues. Identify
potential improvements to increase the reliability, availability,
supportability and performance of the applications and infrastructure.
Interface with developers, test users; communicate with technical,
management, and external teams to identify and resolve problems.
Technical Requirements
Highly Desired
. Deep knowledge of EMC Documentum content automation; ClearQuest, ClearCase
UCM, Perl, Oracle databases and complete life cycle of application
development.
. J2EE software build and deployment, application development and tuning,
with an emphasis on support and improvement of applications testing and
system integration.
. Knowledge of batch scheduling software.
. Knowledge of change management procedures and tools, such as ClearQuest,
RequisitePro, Remedy.
. Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
. Experience in developing Web-based GUI for automation tools for software
build and deployment process management
. Experience with techniques in problem identification, documentation,
resolution, and testing
. Strong customer service skills, problem solving and analytic skills
. Strong technical foundation and proven track record of delivering high
quality work.
Educational Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems,
Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience.
Masters Degree preferred.
