Job Title: Manual QA Backend Tester
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6+Months

Skills Required:
Manual QA backend tester must have background in FIX / Transactional Trading
Systems experience.
Design and develop functional, regression, integration, and performance test
plans/test cases for software enhancements
* Execute test plans and test cases, analyze results, and communicate
overall test status to management or leads
.
* Lead testing effort for assigned projects
.
* Coordinate user acceptance testing
.
* Ensure issues are identified, tracked and resolved in a timely manner
.
* Assess readiness and deviation of product/project performance based upon
test results and product specifications
.
* Report status and issues to management
.
* Deploy code to QA environment using deployment instructions provided by
application developers
.
* Assist application developers and technical support staff in identifying
and resolving problems
.
* Assist in implementing and enforcing QA processes and controls
.
* Coordinate releases with Release Manager
Someone with varied experiences - multiple hats (other candidates we've seen
did not have enough exposure to other functions)
This is primarily backend QA - not front through websites. (FIX protocol
is the main driving factor right now)
Needs a strong, confident personality to stand up to ridged, set in their
ways, developers
*Tibco experience (or some other messaging) is helpful too
* Degree in Finance, Information Technology or Economics
* Quality Assurance experience within the Financial Services industry
* Proficient in SQL & Excel
* Experience with source control (Visual SourceSafe, ClearCase, CVS, etc*)
* Ability to actively assist in the enhancement/development of evolving
department by proactively offering ideas and suggestions
* Ability to facilitate effective team interaction
Desired Skills:
* Knowledge of foreign exchange or other trading systems, FIX highly desired
* Exposure to Agile methodology
* Strong attention to detail
* Prior experience with Microsoft .Net Platform * VB.net, ASP.net, HTML, SQL
Server
* Experience using automated testing tools for both regression and load
testing
