Main Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop target CSDS architecture across all products/regions. * Participate in development of roadmap to implement the target architecture * Conduct stream design reviews to ensure compliance with target architecture and corporate standards * Create service-based architectures promoting shared services and common components. Drive this vision and work with the product lines to identify, implement and promote shared services and common components. * Partner with IB Architecture to develop and implement a shared architectural vision. * Promote the use of the SDLC on all project engagements. * Lead CSDS Architecture Governance Steering Committee * Provide subject matter expertise around the key application development technologies. * Drive and contribute to development of target CSDS architecture across all products/regions * Drive and contribute to Defining technology standards for CSDS * Review and approve CSDS Architecture, Roadmaps, Standards as part of CSDS Architecture Steering Committee At least 10 years IT industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years experience in investment software development, and a minimum of 2 years consulting experience Strong development and consulting skills are essential. The successful candidate will spend the majority of his/her time working on architecture engagements with development teams, so a proven track record in consulting is vital. Experienced in problem solving, exploring alternative approaches, preparing documents and explaining architectures to sponsors, stakeholders, non-technical staff, architects and developers, i.e. taking an overall system view rather than one specific application. The successful candidate will need a solid development background with experience in successful delivery. He/she will also need strong architecture and design experience gained across a variety of technologies and business areas. He/she will also need strong problem-solving skills, and have experience in the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues including: performance, code size, concurrency, code quality / maintainability, reusability, and portability. Practical experience of solving some of the key technology challenges faced by investment banks The architect will work with senior technical figures across the bank, so strong leadership, good communication skills, and a high degree of credibility are essential in being able to perform the sort of architecture engagements envisaged. Application architects need to be able to deal with any of the myriad technologies in use at Credit Suisse, so good knowledge of legacy, current, and emerging technologies is essential. * Knowledge of one of Middle Office or Operations for Cash Securities * Practical development experience with one or more of the following development languages: Java, C++, C#; * Experience in building systems using J2EE application servers or .NET platforms. * Practical knowledge of operating systems: Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux, Solaris. * Working knowledge of standard development tools such as Visual Studio .NET or Eclipse. * Knowledge of enterprise middleware technologies such as JMS, CORBA, MQSeries is a prerequisite. * Some experience of database design and implementation is also necessary (Oracle experience is required, Sybase would be a plus). * At least three years practical experience developing web service / SOA applications using J2EE and/or .NET. * Expertise in XML, XML Schema is required. * Experience of architecting/implementing object-oriented solutions utilising recognized design and architecture patterns. * The ability to read and understand UML models. 1. Knowledge of financial products, including equities and fixed income products. 2. Knowledge of front-to-bank trade flows, position keeping, and settlement process. 3.
