Title: Lead SW Engineer-Web Developer with RUBY Location: Bellevue, WA Duration: 6 Month Lodging Systems Development is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to lead a group of Developers in the creation and support of Lodging Systems through the incredible growth being experienced. If you want to be a leader in an aggressive, large scale, high volume OLTP environment, Lodging Supply at Expedia is the right place to be. Responsibilities will include: Lead both onshore and offshore resources in the design, coding and delivery of business and architectural solutions. Lead a team of 4 to 10 developers in Java, C++ and MSSQL technologies. 50% of time is allocated to hands on design and development. Work within a management team in an Agile or Scrum manner Deliver designs, full features, bug fixes and production support solutions on Travel Server Platform Document architectural direction and strategies Work closely with our partners in other Development Organizations, Release Engineering, Operations, Test Engineering, Program Management and Global Sourcing to deliver business and architectural features Identify and implement process improvements to improve time to market, software quality, automation, innovation and technology upgrades Identify and implement best practices throughout the Engineering team to improve SDLC processes, introduce iterative methodologies and increase efficiency Improve the performance of offshore resources Drive innovation in technology, tools and iterative processes Responsibilities will include: Lead both onshore and offshore resources in the design, coding and delivery of business and architectural solutions. Qualifications include: 3 - 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams in a large scale, web environment. 3 - 5 years of in depth experience in Java, C++ or MSSQL 1 - 3 years of offshore experience preferred Knowledge of software engineering industry standards, best practices, automation frameworks, productivity measurements and development tools Ability to identify and implement best practices in software automation, risk based development, performance engineering and reducing time to market.
