*Duration:* 12 Months or longer Location: Lanham , MD *Deployment Specialist* ** *Duties:* *Primary Duties:* · Provide installation, configuration, and manage deployment issues at the MeF deployment support sites (mostly Lanham , MD ; sometimes Martinsburg , WV ) · Debugging and troubleshooting problems in system integration and production environments · Transfer defect identification and resolution information between defect reporting systems on a timely basis · Configuration Management synchronization activities between development locations · Interface and work closely with development team to call attention to problems, resolving problems and recreating the problems *Other duties as required:* • Work effectively with operations and maintenance processes and procedures within a multi-technology, multi-project, and multi-vendor environment • Transfer defect identification and resolution information between defect reporting systems (ITAMS and Rational ClearQuest) on a timely basis • Define defect resolution processes for software development projects • Must be able to communicate deployment support issues effectively with development and test team members • Ability to work effectively in a multi-vendor environment • Must be willing to perform production installations off hours when required • Thorough knowledge of installation and deployment processes and methodologies, with experience in deploying patches and builds • Experience with, and full understanding of structured software life cycle development (CMMI Level 3 experience a plus) • Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented development languages and client/server environments • Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills exhibiting extreme attention to detail • Perform system integration test during deployment of the application • Document and provide systems logs and reports to developers to assist in problem resolution • Perform risk analysis, as needed, along with proposed mitigation strategies • Verify and validate resolutions to problems • Provide, as required, the distribution of technical and operations status, information and documentation to the Operations Managerand management team • Present, as required, regular status reports of progress and issues against the project schedule to the Operations Manager • Attend code walkthroughs, design reviews and working sessions, when applicable, to gain a thorough understanding of the intent of the requirements and deployment scripts • Assist or train others in understanding complex operational issues, which include product areas and functionality within 3rd party products associated with the application • Other duties as assigned by management *Skills:* - Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server administration - Hands-on experience with UNIX command line and shell scripts (Korn, Bourne, Bash) - Hands-on experience with JSP/Servlet installation and debugging - Hands-on experience with XML, XSL based technologies - Hands-on experience with SQL and tools to access Oracle and DB/2 databases (Quantum, SQL Plus) ** *Nice to have:* - Conversion of JSPs into Vignette templates using the Vignette content management system - Knowledge of Eclipse and/or WebSphere Studio Application Developer - Knowledge of MQ Series administration - Knowledge of DB2 Connect - Hands-on experience with Unix and Win2000/XP - Hands-on experience with configuration management tools and defect tracking systems (Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest a plus) *Thanks & Regards, * *Mark** **||** **Softcom Inc** **||** ** **Voice: 703-636-6803** **|| ** **Fax: 703-991-8346** **|| ** [email protected] || www.softcominc.net <http://||%20 www.softcominc.net%20/>**||*
