BMC Event Manager Location: Boise, ID; Duration: 6 months or Permanent (Preferable on fulltime submission)
Job description is as follows: Implementation -Implementation, configuration of monitoring solutions based on BMC Event Manager , Patrol 7.x, Patrol Agent and Service Impact Manager -Troubleshooting and administration of all above products on UNIX, Windows based hosts. - Specification and implementation of interfaces to other systems management solutions - Life cycle management for all above mentioned products. - Perl or PSL scripting knowledge is mandatory 7x24 support - Provide support for various monitoring solutions - Problem tracking and escalation to the engineering teams Operation - Perform configuration for various monitoring solutions (user administration, console definitions, monitoring metrics and instrumentations, agents, management infrastructure) Solution integration - Acceptance tests and hand over to production in co-operation with the engineering - Provide support documentations and checklist TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE EssentialDesirable General: this role requires expert administration, support and engineering skills (user only skills are not sufficient). Solaris, windows skills and scripting are fundamental requirements. Monitoring experience in any of the industry standard tools as mentioned below. · Experience in PSL or Perl scripting · Experience in the following monitoring tools: · BMC Event Manager 7.0, · Patrol Console 7.x · Patrol AgentAdmin /engineering skills in the following areas · BMC Performance Manager · Service Impact Manager · Databases: Oracle, Sybase, SQL · Linux/Solaris knowledge · Windows administration OTHER REQUIREMENTS Essential The following personal and professional competencies are required: - Good interpersonal and communications skills. - Ability to plan and manage own work without supervision. - Excellent analytical troubleshooting skills and ability to own problems through to resolution. - Proven team player.
