They should be coming out of a financial firm. Job Title: SQL Server Developer Description: Job Title: Database Technical Specialist/Sr. Database Engineer Local Candidates Scope and Impact: ? Works on medium and large complex database projects that are enterprise wide and require the highest level of expertise and multiple technical disciplines. ? Work may involve leading and mentoring other developers (may be onshore or offshore) ? Contribute key technical expertise, potentially global, which may have a direct material impact on Thomson Reuters reputation, and products. ? Working with on-shore and off-shore development, test and operations staff ? Accountable for a team's results, or for a project, and takes responsibility for the quality of work delivered. Sets timeframes and schedules to meet customer and business needs. ? Providing design recommendations, developing and integrating programs per written specifications. Responsible for writing moderate to complex design specifications. ? Translating business and technical requirements into detailed design specifications for application code and modules. ? Developing software application modules using disciplined software development processes. ? Provides assistance in researching new and emerging technologies. Works with vendors to understand technology. Evaluating new tools, technologies and platforms to be included. ? Ensuring project process is followed (assignment objectives, post assignment performance reviews, etc.) Required Years of experience: ? Minimum of 5 years development experience. Experience should include architecture and design responsibilities Professional Requirements: (All skills are very important) ? Requires in-depth experience and understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 databases- Critical ? Understanding of database architecture, design, development and administration on Microsoft SQL Server / Windows platform. - Critical ? Hands on experience with designing scalability database solutions and performance improvements- Critical ? Experienced in Data Modeling, logical and physical database design, performance tuning of existing database applications and design of Backup and Recovery procedures. - Critical ? **SQL CLR (Common Language Run time- Nice to have ? Has developed DTS packages and scheduled database tasks. ? Good understanding of Windows Server 2003. Microsoft Windows and SQL Server Clustering is a plus. ? Experience developing databases on SQL Server 2008 a plus ? Engaged in innovative concepts and programming techniques on how to develop high quality software and still maintaining shorter time to market (e.g. Agile and Extreme Programming (XP)) ? High awareness of customer service ? Financial markets experience ? Very Focused and Challenged ? Strong Communication Skills. ?
