Data Services Business Systems Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Meet with customers & SMEs to determine level of efforts and scope of work
• Analyze project impacts and identify gaps
• Identify upstream and downstream dependencies
• Provide estimates for requirements work
• Determine requirements gathering approach
• Conduct requirements sessions with customers and SMEs
• Create business, system, data and non-functional requirements
• Understand and incorporate Capital One standards into requirements
• Document requirements in approved repository
• Complete full requirements traceability
• Conduct informal & formal requirements reviews
• Answer questions, research issues and support project team
• Attend design and test reviews
Skills:
• Ability to process new information quickly and merge disparate pieces of
information into clear, concise requirements
• Excellent oral and written communication is critical – must be able to bridge
gaps between business customers and technical resources
• Ability to digest information accurately and ask good follow up questions
• Good technical background with ability to find information and have a good
understanding of data and IT processes.
• Ability to estimate level of effort accurately for requirements work
• Ability to network and develop contacts that will provide valuable
information for future projects
• Willingness to learn and take initiative to develop technical skills to aid
in analysis
• Takes ownership and responsibility for requirements and contributes
positively to the team
• Technical knowledge of file formats and file transfers
• Extensive data knowledge and experience with data movement is a plus
