Short Description: 

This Network System Administrator role involves all aspects of PC, Hardware
and Software support including LAN and Internet systems, printers and
telecom the for Motion Picture & TV Commission Environment. 

Complete Description: 

Please note: This is a support position that will have variable hours per
month. The work hours will range (as needed). There are no minimal number of
hours. Please do not submit candidates that are not able to meet this
requirement. Also, we will not accept candidates from vendors that require
support contracts where the person is different for each call.

 

Description of NJ Motion Picture & Television Commission

Computer and Technology System

 

We need an individual who is knowledgeable of our work environment, aware of
our budget limitations and who understands our present and future needs.
They must also provide the appropriate recommendations and support in a
timely fashion. Our candidate must have strong knowledge and skill set for
the system outline below. 

 

Desktop support:

Eight desktop PC CPUs in office running on Windows XP Operating Systems

Virus Protection and virus elimination-software 

Adware protection and adware elimination

Email support

General operations maintenance updates and support.

 

Network support:

. Each CPU is networked through an additional Server CPU (located in our
Copy room) running on XP Operating System, with Nortons Virus Protection
supporting the individual desktops through the network. This must be
maintained, in addition to the following services:

. Printing Services for each CPU are networked through the Server: HP 4250
(B&W) HP 4500 (Color) and Xerox 2128 (B&W/Color Copier/Printer) Printers may
require Maintenance from time to time. 

. On the Network, each user accesses a common drive (referred to as the K
drive). In addition to the K drive, each desktop has it own private network
drive (referred to as the G drive) 

. Data on the K drive (approximately 35 gigs) is backed up via Backup Exec.
each evening on 

o A tape backup system

o An additional external hard drive. 

 

More about the Network:

. Each computer is routed to a patch panel in an auxiliary telephone room on
our floor, and then rejoined to the server inside our office. 

. Our state Internet services are routed into a main telephone room, and
then run upstairs to our auxiliary telephone room, and then into our office.


 

 

Experience: 5 plus years

 

Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
