Candidates for each position must have all of the types and durations
listed as follows of mandatory technical experience required for the
position to be eligible for consideration. Non-mandatory technical
requirements are desirable and will be scored based on level of
experience. Technical experience may be concurrent.
MANDATORY Requirements:
NOTE: Candidates who do not meet all of the following mandatory
requirements will not be considered for further evaluation and the
entire proposal will be deemed non-responsive.
a. A minimum of four (4) years of system administration experience
with the Solaris Operating System on SPARC hardware including at
least one (1) year with Solaris Version 10.
b. A minimum of four (4) years of system administration experience
with EMC/Legato Networker Server and Client installation,
configuration and administration.
c. A minimum of four (4) years of system administration experience
with Veritas or other volume manager experience in a storage area
network (SAN) environment.
d. A minimum of four (4) years of system administration experience in
software package installation and configuration on Solaris.
DESIRABLE Experience:
(Scores will be assigned based on the length of the experience)
a. Experience with Oracle WebLogic Application Server installation,
configuration and tuning.
b. Experience with Apache or other web server installation,
configuration and tuning.
c. AIX Operating system administration experience.
d. VMWare ESX server administration experience.
e. CA/Wily Introscope administration experience.
Duties: responsible for configuration, implementation, and
maintenance of the operating environment, including: servers,
firewalls, load balancers, main and backup storage devices, and Web
and application servers.
Examples of System Administration activities and responsibilities that
will be required of the Contractor in this project include, but not
limited to:
• Develop and implement data backup and recovery procedures;
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity
procedures in the event of server failures;
• Operating system maintenance tasks including installing patches for
problem resolution and security enhancements;
• Monitor servers to ensure operation within acceptable parameters.
Initiate diagnostics and repair of servers in case of failure;
• Tune servers to run at optimal performance;
• Respond proactively to performance issues with hardware and
software;
• Maintain systems for high availability, which includes working off-
hours, as needed.
