consultants with one of my clients. Please find the details and the complete

Position: Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 6+ months with a possibility of extension
up to 1yr
Location: San Francisco , CA
Positions: 1
Required Qualifications:
Infrastructure Architect who will be responsible for new infrastructure
implementations, specifically: Virtual Computing, Cluster Computing, High
Availability Architecture, and Data Center Consolidations. Project
deliverables include assessing the current business requirements, proposing
and recommending a future state and developing a roadmap for the list of
projects required to achieve the recommended future state. In addition to
understanding high performance and high availability, responsibilities may
include making product recommendations, installations, prototyping, and
assisting migration of legacy system into these technologies. The ability to
adapt solutions from one environment to another, addressing new capabilities
and system integration problems, is required. The right candidate will be
expected to demonstrate disciplined work habits leading to products that are
well-structured, documented, and carefully tested..
Must have 5 years experience as an Architect with at least 2-3 years of
experience in each of the skills below.
. Experience providing systems architectural services on large, complex
multi-year systems development projects
. Documented experience creating technical roadmaps to develop and implement
a complex system rewrite in a phased approach.
. Technical skills - Experience with data center design and deployment,
Storage Area Networks (SAN), data backup and restore technology, redundant
and highly available systems, network architecture and implementation,
server/network security, business continuity and disaster recovery;
experience in designing and maintaining logical and physical representations
to support infrastructure design architectures.
. Knowledgeable in distributed systems in an Unix environment (Solaris,
Linux, AIX). Knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server).
. Program Management skills - communication, planning (schedule development,
task analysis, Cost estimation), organizational (task description,
commitment process, standards), performing (milestone/control point mgmt,
schedule mgmt, status reporting, audits), tools (MS Project, Excel,
PowerPoint, Word). Excellent communications (written and oral) and
interpersonal skills.
. Leadership - Able to perform as Engineering lead within major system
development; Able to get work done independently and in a team with people
having diverse skill-sets.
. Application knowledge - Workflow applications, J2EE, system/network
monitoring. Experience with contemporary e-business architectures and
technologies.
