Description:

The Senior IT Security Specialist works with IT staff in the O&S
organization and various lines of business for all IT security-related
matters. In large part, the analyst will ensure compliance to security
standards and best practices for new applications and infrastructures by
reviewing/auditing applications, systems and networks, with a concentration
on network security. Other major responsibilities include managing security
infrastructure tools, as well as responding to potential security incidents.
Candidates must have a strong and demonstrated background in pure IT
Security functions outside of network engineering or LAN administration. 

Responsibilities: 

.       Evaluate new projects and applications as they relate to security
architecture and design; audit existing deployments and analyze gaps against
security practices and standards. 

.       Perform operating system, network and application vulnerability
assessments to identify security exposures in the environment. Work with
divisional security and data center officers to drive remediation efforts of
discovered vulnerabilities. 

.       Evaluate, deploy and administer security solutions as needed. 
.       Prepare security audit reports, for audit and compliance (SOX,
SAS70) 
.       Provide guidance to AIG business units on applying corporate
information security policy and procedures to their projects. Maintain
security awareness among business units and the global O&S organization 

.       Develop, review and maintain security policies and standards for the
network and systems. 
.       Respond to major security incidents when necessary. 

Required Skills:  

.       Strong familiarity with security issues surrounding network
computing (malware, DLP, intrusion detection etc); experience in
implementation of security systems and controls. 

.       Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls and Remote
Access VPN solutions. 
.       Strong understanding of network security vulnerabilities and
remediation. 
.       Formal training or work experience in a variety of security tools
(including network/host vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and
security analysis). 

.       Formal training or work experience in architecting / implementing at
least 2 of the following technical security areas (Firewall/VPN, Active
Directory, UNIX). 

.       Expertise with SQL server, Windows scripting and/or RADIUS a major
plus. 
.       Working knowledge of UNIX and Microsoft operating systems and
technologies, including an understanding of security and user administration
in these environments. 

.       Strong investigation/analytical skills. 
.       Proven technical leadership skills and the ability to self-manage /
motivate. 
.       Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and
ability to work in a team environment. 
.       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
