Location: Boston,MA Duration: 2 Months Rate : $30 /hr (sorry for the low rate) Description: *Need candidates by today, tomorrow at the very latest and locals only.* As a senior developer in the Product Design group, you will be responsible for web services frameworks which utilize a variety of open source and commercial components and technologies. Focus areas will be in developer productivity, testing methodologies, management tools and framework development. You should be a self motivator and be willing to develop and champion ideas to the organization and management. *The Environment:* · Solaris OS · Apache/Tomcat · Sun One · Oracle 8.x, 9i and 10G · XML for content storage, display and manipulation *Essential accountabilities include*: · Enhance existing features, debug and correct system bugs and implement minor change requests. · Provide technical subject matter expertise to the Business Analyst, Project Manager and Business Sponsor during the requirements gathering phase. · Design and implement various transaction processing components to work within Model 2 (MVC) web applications and stand alone batch processing applications. · Participate in the continuous refinement of a standardized, structured e-application development methodology and process. · Design/architect extensible technical solutions with adequate documentation (state charges, flow diagrams, class diagrams etc.) · Create accurate time estimates and consistently hit code complete deadlines. *The ideal candidate will posses:* · Strong development background with 3-6 years experience developing in Java and 3 or more years experience with Java-based server side packages (JSP, Tag Libraries, JMS, etc) · Extensive project experience and be capable to effectively and quickly leverage that experience to create solutions and solve problems. · Experience using source code control software and bug tracking software with a preference to those that have strong CVS skills with experience performing branches and merges. · Strong knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Velocity and related frameworks. · Experience in database design and with Oracle (PL/SQL). · Significant development experience in a Unix/Linux environment. · Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, and SOAP desired. · Knowledge of and experience with SOA and XML related standards. · Experience with open source tools and applications, and familiarity with open source development standards and life cycles · Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. · Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams. · Working knowledge of Object Oriented design patterns and their appropriate application. · Strong communications skills (presentation and documentation) and interpersonal skills. · Keen understanding of structured development methods throughout the entire development lifecycle.
