Duration: 6 months Rate: Neg / Sal Quote No of Positions : 2 (1 Architect Level / 1 Sr Level consultant) This is not an Architect level position. The client is open for H1B's as well. Principal Responsibilities * Responsible for overall architecture and strategy for the deployment of ESSBASE & Planning (System 11) as a technology. * Establishes standards for the technology including identification of appropriate uses for all options within the ESSBASE technology stack (ASO, BSO, Data Integrator, System 9) * Plays a technology leadership role * Responsible for understanding user requirements and translating those requirements into well architected solutions * Performs quality assurance & design review functions for all projects where the technology will be utilized * Researches and recommends alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal direction. Analyzes trends to proactively prevent problems. * Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies and integration options with ESSBASE and Planning * Complies with project management methodology requirements as appropriate. Develops detailed program specifications for self and others. * Tests and implements systems and enhancements using techniques that meet generally accepted coding standards. Assists less senior engineers when performing system and acceptance testing. Key Relationships * Interacts with business clients to define, analyze, and deliver customer requirements. * Providing guidance to ESSBASE and Planning developers. Qualifications * Education: B.S./B.A. in computer science, engineering, information systems preferred, and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. * Experience: Position typically filled by candidate having 7-10 years BI related experience with 4-6 years* experience developing and architecting solutions using ESSBASE * Core Competencies: Strong partnering, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability, within a specific technology area, to independently complete root-cause analysis, design solutions, write simple or complex code, perform testing, provide documentation, and implement medium size development projects or major components of large projects. Ability to review the technical work of less senior engineers, analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity; Project management skills. Strong customer service/team orientation. Needed * Hyperion ESSBASE/Planning System 9 certification needed * WOrking with Planning models * Working with both ASO and BSO databases * Designing & trouble shooting complex calculations * Partitioning experience preferred. * Broad technology footprint experience (UNIX, MVS, multiple database platforms) * Broad understanding of emerging technologies within the BI space. * Alternative actions for problem resolution. * Problem escalation. * Policy and methodology enhancements. * Develops task level estimates. * Develops program specifications. * Provides input on project schedules.
