Requirement for Test Engineer
Work Location: Suitland, MD
Duration 3+ Months
We are seeking a candidate who meets the following requirements for a Test
Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Analyze the DADS System Requirements Specification, Functional and
Technical Designs, consult with business analysts, development teams, and
Census Bureau to define, design, develop, and construct test scenarios, test
cases, automated test scripts, and test conditions
* Define the test strategy for customer requirements to include
designing, writing, and executing test cases and procedures that define
specific test criteria and the expected results to be achieved
* Design and develop test plans/procedures and software/hardware
configurations for the test production environment based on analysis of the
customer's targeted production environment
Experienced in:
* Tools and technologies required to execute various forms of system
testing (integration, regression, performance, etc), especially with data
rich internet applications, data quality, and back-end data processing
applications
* Back-office ETL systems for complex and large sized data
applications
* PL/SQL (Oracle), Data Models, Data Warehousing
* UNIX shell scripts and Perl scripts
* XML Schema, XSLT, XPath, XQuery
* Oracle XML-DB
* Data conversion and/or data migration activities
* Defect Tracking and management (preferably in Rational ClearQuest)
* Candidate should have proven record of very strong teamwork,
interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
* Candidate should have 4 - 6 years of progressive experience in the
area of system development and testing
* The ideal candidate also will have Federal Government experience
Knowledge of:
. Knowledge of industry standard testing methodologies, processes,
change & configuration management, and metrics collection/analysis (CMM
Level 3 or comparable, preferred) is helpful
. Understanding and experience with application development life
cycle
* Excellent customer relationship skills
* Java, Endeca Information Access platform is a plus
Tools:
Rational Suite (ClearQuest, Functional Tester, Test Manager, RequisitePro,
ClearCase), MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, XMLSpy, TOAD
Industry Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of: U.S. Census Bureau
data, including demographic, economic, and geographic data.
