Our client is looking for a Java Architect to join his team. For now below
will give you a feel for what they are looking for as a start.  Soft skills
would be the ability to negotiate, see things from a high level and strong
company knowledge.

*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*

Lead web application development and support Team(s) leveraging agile
methods to deliver high quality application code/functionality in a very
fast paced 24X7 mission critical environment.
Provides guidance and mentoring on strategy and future direction, ensuring
the technical solution is commensurate with the business need without
over-engineering.
Identifies the right People for the right job.
Recognizes the appropriate skills and experience needed for the job.
Cultivates Team dynamics that drives toward the collective goals of the Team
and the success of client.
Incorporates organizational and interpersonal insights to make decisions.
Understands organizational dynamics and is able to present information in a
way that achieves alignment of People and Teams.

*TEAM INFORMATION:*
Responsible for Leading a Team of 8-12 technical professionals to include
software engineers, business analysts, and project specialists.
Heavy Interaction with third party development partners, as well as internal
test and infrastructure teams.

*REQUIRED SKILLS:*
Strong technical aptitude and previous hands on experience in a given
technical discipline such as software development, engineering, or
architecture.
Demonstrated capability to understand and align with enterprise strategic
tools, technical infrastructure and future direction against common
deliverables.
Exceptional Customer service skills, strong influence and persuasion and
teamwork skills.
A proven track record of delivering highly available systems and quality
software products on time and on budget.
Significant experience in a highly visible technology leadership role.
Experience with building, motivating & mentoring, and leading large
groups/Teams.
Demonstrated experience and success using project management skills.
Able to effectively interact with senior leaders, software vendors,
architects, peers, engineers, etc.
Strict budgeting and forecasting mentally, ability to manage large projects
while effectively reducing costs.
Superior verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills with both
technical & non-technical audiences.
Must have a strong background in program and project management, 4 plus
years of experience.

*PREFERRED SKILLS:*
Experience with various technology development methodologies, specifically
developing agile methodology and building and agile organization.
Development experience in multiple environments including C++, Java, J2EE.
Advanced degree in IT, Business, Engineering or other technical curriculum.
Experience with MS Office Tools, such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Previous airline industry experience.
Minimum Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Degree or better
