With skills on the mainframe platform, and specifically SAP on z/Linux!! Position Description The Mainframe SAP Basis administrator will support, maintain and troubleshoot problems throughout the ongoing project phases and production systems that include SAP ECC, SAP BI, SAP GRC, and SAP IdM. This role will be the primary SME for the SAP applications running on the mainframe (z/OS for DBA Database and z/Linux for application servers). Responsibilities (Include scope of work, supervisory responsibilities, impact of role, etc.) Basis Admin responsible for supporting 40+ SAP instances on the mainframe. The applications include SAP ECC, SAP BI, SAP GRC, SAP SolMan, and SAP IdM. The day-to-day responsibilities as follow: - Act as a Senior Basis Mainframe Specialist to support the Basis Team - Complete performance tuning for SAP applications - Be point of escalation for complex technology problems - Work with functional team on problem management activities - Plan, coordinate and execute system maintenance activities - Define and implement process improvement measures within the team and environment - Support and Execute activities such as SAP System Installation, Client Copies, Support Packages, Kernel Upgrading and System Copies - Establish and maintain SAP Environment consistency among the different applications including SAP ECC, BI, GRC, and eventually SAP EP and SAP PI - Create, maintain and improve technical documentation for both planned and support Basis activities. - Investigate opportunities for performance tuning and create efficiency in standard Basis processes - Maintain and tuning the SAP monitoring system using SAP Solution Manager Must Have Skills/Qualifications (Type of work experience, skills, residency requirement, etc.) Technical - Support SAP applications on z/Linux platform: - Performance analysis and tuning with SAP z/Linux on the mainframe - Experience with HA and DR solution with SAP on Mainframe - Backup/Recovery of SAP system on in the mainframe - Familiarity with the latest z/Linux (SuSe) libraries and commands - Strong with z/Linux script development - NFS (network file sharing) specific to Mainframe and z/Linux - Perform SAP Installation - Configure, Support and Apply SAP Transports Management System - Identify and Resolve SAP Performance Issues (SAP profile parameters, Analyze SAP Traces) - Plan and Support activities such as SAP System Copies, Client Copies, Kernel updates - Daily Monitoring of SAP System (SAP System Log, Updates, Investigate Short Dump) - Apply SAP OSS Note Application - Troubleshoot and Resolve Technical Issues - Work with application team on technical issues - Ensure environmental consistency - Prepare workplans for system maintenance activities - Prepare performance checklist to ensure acceptable system performance Professional - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to resolve technical issues and escalate issues when appropriate - Excellent administrative and organization skills - Ability to allocate tasks to effectively leverage available skills and resources Administration - Ability to prioritize and complete task within schedule - Build specialized technical skills - Provide informal feedback to junior members of the team framework Nice to Have Skills/Qualifications (Include other skills that would be helpful but are not a requirement of the position) Experience with SAP EP 6.0, and SAP XI 3.0 systems Experience with DB2 on z/OS Mainframe platform: - TSO navigation - JCL (job control language) development and execution - Backup/recovery - SAP system copy Experience (Preferred years of experience/skill proficiency) The Basis Administrator needs to have the following experience - 5 - 7 years Basis Admin experience on the mainframe and z/linux Thanks and best regards, Monica Walsh SERBIZ Inc., Direct: 978-935-2283 Office: 978-703-1314 Fax: 866-644-8512 [email protected] www.serbizinc.com <http://www.serbizinc.com/> P Please do not print this email unless it is absolutely necessary.
