Location: Wayne, PA
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: $50/hr
This position is responsible for all aspects of the database including
schema design, performance tuning, load testing and component and tools
development to improve the database process. The emphasis is on reviewing
T-SQL and ensuring SQL optimization and compliance with enterprise database
development standards. This position will also provide senior level DBA
support to address most critical client production issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES % OF TIME
. Performance tuning of SQL Sever database environments including
optimization of queries and stored procedures as well as blocking and
deadlock resolutions (25%)
. Profiling database transactions and analyzing results (25%)
. Reviewing T-SQL and ensuring SQL optimization and compliance with
enterprise database development standards (25%)
. Implementing and maintaining disaster recovery and backup plans for SQL
Server databases (10%)
. Preparing technical documentation as required (10%)
. Supporting operational activities / deployments for databases when
required (5%)
DECISION MAKING
The individual filling this role will be working closely with the Product
Development as well as Information Technology, Product Management and
Quality Assurance. During these interactions, technical and functional
guidance will be provided and reviewed throughout the project life cycle.
EDUCATION
B.S. in Computer Science or Information Science or equivalent discipline
required.
M.S. in Computer Science or Information Science or equivalent discipline
preferred.
Comparable work experience will be considered.
Microsoft SQL Certification preferred
EXPERIENCE
. At least 7 years of SQL Server development and/or DBA experience
. Good understanding of relational model theory
. .Net knowledge/experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of programming
experience preferred
. Client/Server (MS SQL Server/Oracle) development preferred
. Mortgage / financial industry knowledge is a plus
. Excellent problem solving skills required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
