Description
Note: LOCAL (MO & IL) candidates only
This position is needed to support Technology Pipeline Solutions database
systems. Data Management is responsible for maintaining the integrity of
production data across multiple integrated systems and supporting developers
and testers during the application release process. The successful candidates
will analyze scientific data, and design and implement SQL solutions for
production data issues and release related issues. The candidate should
demonstrate high attention to detail, good problem solving and communication
skills, and the ability to work independently.
Description:
Analyzes, designs, creates and implements databases, including data models,
logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas, access methods,
device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Develops and
implements database recovery plans and procedures. Develops and implements
database analysis and development policies, standards and procedures. Liaises
with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as
software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. Usually requires 3 to 5
years of previous experience.
Required Skills:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years experience in SQL development and tuning.
• Must have experience with Oracle 9i and 10g.
• Must be familiar with Oracle features and technologies.
Secondary Technical Skills:
• Microsoft Excel formulas and pivot tables.
• Data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using Explain Plan and TKPROF.
• Experience using Toad or SQL Navigator.
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience as a database application developer.
• Background in Biology or Agronomy.
