4 year degree a must~prefers a 4 yr degree in Computer Science of
Engineering.Cisco certification a strong plus ,financial experience strong
plus, securities exp and network infrustructure exp.

 

Position Title: Network Engineer – Common Platform Pillar

Division: Technical Operations- DCE&MS

Location: New York

Amount of Travel: minimal within US

Project:– responsible for collecting and interpret business requirement and
converting those requirements into tangible LAN/WAN network infrastructure
designs.  Follow the full life-cycle of common platform related networking
infrastructure projects from high level design through to detailed design,
documentation and hands on implementation. 

 

Required Experience: 

Ø  4-6  years of experience as a network engineer with hands-on Cisco IP
Routing/Switching design and implementation.

Ø  Working knowledge of IP routing protocols, network security concepts and
load-balancing methods.

Ø  Experience with financial services is a plus.

 

Required Education and/or Certifications: 

Ø  Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical
degree.

Ø  Any of the following a plus: CCNP, CCDP, CCIP, CCDE, CCIE 

Ø  ITILv3

 

Type of Work and Required Skills: 

Ø  Network Engineer with experience working with a large complex LAN/WAN
infrastructures.

Ø  Ability to understand business requirements and convert those business
requirements into technical specifications and ultimately a detailed network
design.

Ø  Ability to work as part of a larger team and present designs during peer
review sessions.

Ø  Ability to communicate ideas, concepts and solutions in a clear concise
manner. 

Ø  Experience with both LAN and WAN infrastructures including service
provider MPLS WAN experience.

Ø  Experience installing, supporting and maintaining network infrastructure.

Ø  Candidate’s leadership skills must show independence and an ability to
work on their own and be self-motivated.

Ø  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ø  Attention to detail when documenting designs and network configurations.

Ø  Hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco hardware, IP Routing and
Switching.

Ø  Cisco IP Load Balancing and working knowledge of IP Firewalls.

Ø  Excellent communication skills and outstanding problem solving ability.  

Ø  The candidate has to be task oriented, manage multiple streams of
completing work concurrently.  Must maintain a focus on results and thinking
like a customer.

Ø  Participates on project support teams for routine network implementation
efforts.

Ø  Strong working knowledge and experience with: TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, LAN/WAN,
Ethernet switching, BGP, EIGRP, SNMP, VPN, MPLS, Traffic Engineering and
IPSEC.

Ø  IP Multicast a plus.

Ø  Creates network designs and follows them through to documentation and
implementation.

Ø  Participates on project support teams for routine network implementation
efforts.

Ø  MPLS a plus.

Ø  ITILv3 a plus

 

 

 

 

Description 

Assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses
knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and
external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems
and make improvements. May require a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years
of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of
the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and
judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead
and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is
expected. Typically reports to a manager. 

 

 




The Network Engineer will be responsible for collecting business
requirements and converting those requirements into technical network
requirements and specifications. The Network Engineer will have a strong
ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and
anticipate end to end network infrastructure needs. 

 

The ideal candidate must have a solid grasp of the PDIO lifecycle of
planning, design, implementation and operation.   

 

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively participate in
cross-functional meetings, clearly articulate network infrastructure
capabilities and translate business requirements into technical
requirements.  

 

The candidate will document network designs and support the implementation
of LAN/WAN network infrastructures.  

 

The candidate must have strong hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco
hardware, IP Routing and Switching.  Additionally the candidate will have
Cisco IP Load Balancing experience, working knowledge of IP Firewalls and IP
Multicast. The candidate must have strong working knowledge and experience
with: TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, LAN/WAN, Ethernet switching, BGP,EIGRP, SNMP, VPN,
MPLS, Traffic Engineering and IPSEC.

 

The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and
outstanding problem solving ability.  

The candidate has to be task oriented, manage multiple streams of completing
work concurrently and maintain a focus on results while thinking like a
customer.
