Summary:
Customer is looking for a qualified, passionate and energetic individual to
join our Enterprise Architecture team in a senior consultant, technical
architect capacity. Solutions to our problems often involve implementation
and integrating of vended software solutions and/or custom software
development.
The individual will guide the development, specification and communication
of application or infrastructure architectures used by multiple application
systems. The candidate will provide an in-depth technical consultation to
business stakeholders and technology management to develop plans and
directions to assure the integration of business area requirements.
Additionally, candidate will contribute to technology strategy development
and technology department improvement initiatives.
The candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the project
lifestyle including: mobilization and discovery, planning, requirements,
design, development, testing and deployment. Along with very strong
technical skills and a proven track record, the candidate we are seeking
must have a tenacious desire to learn and understand business principles,
concepts and strategy.
Required Skills :
•Define overall system architecture requirements and specifications based on
business objectives and requirements
•Analyze and identify overall system architecture and project risks and
provide risk mitigation solutions
•Identify technical project priorities/dependencies and support the
evolution of implementation schedules
Provide technical direction and leadership to team members through
consistent documentation and communication
•Define, manage and put into effect architectural guidelines, best practices
and standards
•Forecast and plan capacity requirements and future growth needs of
specified applications and supporting infrastructure components
•Understand technical infrastructure and recommend solutions consistent with
the environment, technical knowledge, resources, availability requirements,
etc.
•Plan, design, document, and work to implement systems adhering to
architectural standards, methodologies and best practices
•Supply cost estimates to project and engagement management, including
capital and labor costs
•Remain abreast of new products, technologies and industry trends
•Participate in recruiting and mentoring
•Recommend and plan for backup/recovery and disaster recovery consistent
with business’s needs, budget, risk aversion, etc.
•Assist in problem determination and resolution for complex system outages
or chronic problems
•Understand enterprise architecture and drives organizational alignment to
the strategy
•Strong oral and written communication, analytical, organizational, and
interpersonal skills

Job Description & Experience:
•8-10 years of enterprise-class, J2EE application architecture and design
experience, specifically in a WebSphere environment
•Minimum of 5+ years experience developing and designing custom built
dynamic web applications and services with J2EE application frameworks
(Struts2, Hibernate, Spring), WebSphere Application Server, networking,
security, and server hardware products
•Significant experience in eliciting, articulating and critiquing functional
and system requirements
•Talented in creating application architectures for large scale, consumer
facing enterprise applications and services
•Demonstrated knowledge of current architecture and development
methodologies, including Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Iterative and
Agile Development Methodologies and practical best practices for each
•Demonstrated experience in using various integration technologies including
Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL, WS-* standards), RESTful Services,
Enterprise Service Bus, and Messaging (MQ).
•Experience in developing XML schemas (XSD) and standards and promoting
consistent data sharing techniques across enterprise systems
•Solid understanding of edge of network caching technologies and services
that can be used in conjunction with J2EE applications
•Demonstrated experience in planning, designing and deploying middleware and
infrastructure components and assisting in scalability and performance
tuning of middleware and infrastructure components
•Experience and knowledgeable in best practices associated with application
performance analysis and tuning
•Experience with implementing various content management technologies and
usage patterns in online media industries; experience with the Interwoven
suite of products highly desired
•Experience with implementing search engine technologies, including search
engine marketing and search engine optimization techniques; experience with
Endeca suite of products highly desired
•Experience with Web Analytics Solutions (e.g. Omniture, WebSideStory,
WebTrends) desired
•Skills to effectively contribute to strategic IT planning, including
process improvements and system risk mitigation
