*Location* – Trenton, NJ
*Duration *– 6 Months
*Description*
Develop short and long term strategy for production and disaster recovery
data centers
Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
Using the following minimum skills:
Demonstrated experience managing all physical infrastructure and hosting
environments of an enterprise size data center, including power, cooling,
emergency systems, rack/cable management.
Hosting environments to include wide area network, application hosting
servers (mainframe class, virtual machines, blade systems), storage area
network fabric, KVM and rack based power management.
Must possess working knowledge of large print operations (printers,
inserters, sealers).
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to technical personnel and
draft documentation for senior management.
Craft a short term and long term strategy for existing data center
facilities for the State of NJ. Consider all options of how to best leverage
existing facilities and review options for collocation services, as well as
define under what conditions it may be recommended to build another data
center. Take into consideration existing computer rooms within about eight
to ten agencies for potential consolidation. Review what other states have
done with data center hosting and determine what factors should be
considered to craft a long term strategy for the State of NJ.
