Position: Senior Database Engineer Length of assignment: 12 Months Hours: 8 Location: Rockville, MD *Scope of Position:* * * Design, develop, and maintain database applications for the Wealth Management group Work with product managers, project managers, and other development team members on a daily basis to analyze requirements, design, and develop database applications. *Main Responsibilities:* * * 1. Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements 2. Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and technical) requirements 3. Implement database solutions using available database development tools 4. Provide first level operational support for development and production database systems 5. Provide written status reports to management regarding project status, task, and issues/risks *Required Skills:* * * 1. Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience 2. 5 years working experience in Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, or other relational database 3. Proficiency in relational database design, data warehousing and database administration 4. Experience in Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer, Oracle Enterprise Management Tools 5. Experience in C, C++, Unix Shell Scripts 6. Experience in configuration management and code version control 7. Experience in database performance tuning 8. Experience with Sun Solaris, Digital Unix, HP-UX, Windows NT/2000 9. Good written and verbal communication skills 10. Good technical and problem solving skills; knowledge of Oracle database server, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, SQL Server, UNIX, shell scripting 11.
