Analyzes security risks and plans controls. Develops policies and procedures to implement security practices. Coordinates implementation of security controls. Designs and implements controls. Monitors compliance with security policies and procedures. Security Analyst capabilities with 8 or more years of experience. Familiar with a variety of the security concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The following skill and knowledge levels are needed: . Experience designing, implementing and managing active directory. . High level of technical security expertise on Microsoft technologies with particular emphasis on client and server operating systems, Active Directory and Exchange. . Participate in projects to ensure that Information Security control requirements are included early in all new IT Projects including those involving the use of approved third party service providers, and encourage an information security conscious culture within IT Services. Analyze and determine security risks of new software requests introduced or implemented to the DOC environment. . Act as technical incident response expert, including when required the application of computer forensic analysis techniques. This will involve either managing and / or assisting with the investigation of information security incidents. . Participate in security risk assessment process for new projects, including provision of expert advice on system and network architectures, appropriate security controls, and overall risk rating. . Assist with the technical risk assessment of new technologies and existing IT assets, so that the business requirements for security are identified, and all identified risks are managed in an effective manner. . Skill set should reflect a strategic quality as well as a holistic approach to IT projects or assignments . Ability to work with application developers to ensure that proper security controls are identified, implemented and tested.
