Response Time: Immediate Requirement: Title: Sr. Web & Portal Developer Position: 1 Duration: 6 months Location: Tallahassee, FL Interview: Immediate Description: Sr. Web & Portal Developer working under the direct supervision of the Interim Supervisor, Web Content & Usability. Provide development expertise on intranet portal and extranet web-site to provide needed functionality in both systems. - Work closely with the interim supervisor to provide web & portal component development, testing, and implementation per scheduled projects. - Provide web-based user interface design assistance and coding. - Interface with business partners to achieve expected results in both look-and-feel and functionality within web gadgets (ColdFusion) and portal components (portlets). - Provide development insight and expertise with respect to portlet development (JSR-168) and ColdFusion web gadgets. - Work closely with the interim supervisor to achieve expected results within the Portal Improvement Project, and internal web-site redesign efforts during Q1-Q2 2010. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Excellent client services skills. - Strong oral, written and analytical skills. - Ability to work independently; or under only general direction. - Ability to identify and streamline routine processes in a fast-paced environment - Ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing technology. - Excellent skills with MS Office Suite. - Significant knowledge of, and experience coding in, HTML and CSS. - Understanding of .NET and J2EE architectures - Knowledge of administration of web server components - (servers, portals, log review, diagnosis, settings, etc.) - Strong working knowledge of W3C Web Standards, Section 508 compliance, and XHTML - Knowledge of web graphic and design software: Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Dreamweaver and their capabilities. - Ability to optimize graphics for the Web - Knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility and design constraints - Understanding of user experience design for the Web and demonstrable design skills. - Experience with design and use of content management systems and dynamic templates Required Education and Experience: - Bachelor degree in Information Technology or a combination of education and experience can substitute for degree. - 5+ years or more of relevant experience building, managing and maintaining large, complex Web sites - 5+ years experience with design and usability of Web-enabled applications.
