J2EE SOA Engineer(Start Date: ASAP)

Project Description

Client has recently (Q1, 2009) won a contract from the US Government for an agency's mission critical application. The new system is a replacement for an existing client/server application which is 12-15 years old. Currently, project is in initial prototyping phase. Joint Application and Requirements Development sessions are ongoing. Initial version is scheduled for production in December 2010. Under normal circumstances all the key players in the project can anticipate working on the project up to 5+ years.

Position Description

Candidates will participate in various phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, specification generation, and application design and software development.  The candidate will also participate and lead the design and development of services and business processes.

 Educational Requirements
 
BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Soft Skills
 
Candidate must successfully pass a government background investigation. (Previous background investigation (NAC) or clearance is a plus)
Candidate must be self-starter, driven and motivated to come-up with innovative solutions to meet client requirements
Problem-solving, goal-oriented, willing to learn, with good coding skills and engineering intuition
Positive attitude toward work and other people, team player
Excellent verbal and written communication ability
Strong presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Technical Skills
 
Applied understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and related tools, frameworks, and technologies
6 to 8 years experience with developing SOA based solutions
Working knowledge of the WebSphere SOA stack is a must

IBM Websphere Process Server v6.2

IBM Websphere Business Monitor v6.2

 
Experience with Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS)
Systems integration experience is a must
Understanding of business process engineering principles and toolsets is a must
Strong understanding of Enterprise software development architectures, patterns and best practices
6 to 8 years experience with UML
6 to 8 years experience with JEE frameworks and full life cycle N-tier software development from conceptual design
Practical understanding of persistence technologies including EJB or ORM
Experience with one or more industry standard Java IDEs - Eclipse, IBM Rational

Software Architect, WebSphere Application Developer, Borland JBuilder, JDeveloper
Strong understanding of relational database architecture and development
Experience with Configuration Management process and version control tools

Experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP) desirable
