Ensures data integration processes meets service level requirements. Designs and writes the scripts required to extract, transform, clean and move data and metadata so it can be loaded into a data warehouse, data mart of operational data store. Responsible for providing leadership to a team of developers. Prioritizes requirements, schedules tasks and communicates progress. * * * *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * * *· Monitors business use and performance of the data warehouse and provides feedback to data warehouse architects, developers and database administrators.* *· Develops, documents and schedules data warehouse operations and tasks, including extraction, movement, loading, archival, security, backups and aggregation table creation.* *· Manages requests for changes and prioritizes work based on business needs and available resources.* *· Works with business requirements to identify and understand source systems.* *· Maps source system data to data warehouse models.* *· Develops and tests for extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes.* *· Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes.* *· Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.* *· Achieves job-related education and training goals.* *· Adheres to departmental standards, guidelines and methodologies for all assigned tasks.* *· Reviews work output for members of the service team as appropriate.* *· Responsible for transition and execution of knowledge transfer to other project team members.* *· Responsible for leadership, mentorship and training for project team members as appropriate.* *· Responsible for taking a collaborative approach with other service teams.* *· Scopes projects and manages scope changes.* *· Prioritizes requirements and manages expectations.* *· Develops plans and schedules.* *· Coordinates training for project team as necessary.* *· Interviews end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analysis, metadata, training, service levels, data quality and performance.* *· Works with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications.* *· Helps identify and assess potential data sources.* *· Recommends appropriate scope of requirements.* *· Validates that the data warehouse meets requirements and service level agreements.* *· Coordinates prototype reviews.* *· Expertise in the full IBM Infosphere DataStage Suite including: source and target mapping and job design, and real-time integration* *· Experience in designing and tuning Datastage jobs against large multi-TB tables (Netezza or Teradata experience preferred)* * * * * * * *PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:* * * *· Indirectly responsible for managing the day to day work performance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse junior team members.
