*Summary:*
Develop Cognos data models and reports from relational and multi-dimensional
data sources.
*Education/Experience*
o Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree
preferred.
o 5+ years Cognos experience required
*Responsibility level **
*o Self-motivated, creative, dynamic individual with a positive attitude
able to work with minimal direction from supervisor
*Skills*
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention
to detail and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
o Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive
performance feedback (Required)
o Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of
Cognos data models and reports (Required)
o Knowledge of Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager, Report Studio and Transformer
(Required)
o Strong SQL skills for development of custom SQL and reporting views
(Required)
o Knowledge of Cognos 8.4 Metric Studio and Event Studio (Preferred)
*Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: **
*o Interact with business unit users for requirement gathering and
development process
o Use Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager to build modesl, packages and publish
packages
o Use Cognos 8.4 Report Studio to develop standard and complex reports
o Create cubes based on business requirements and create the related
drill-through reports
o Mentor other developers for support of newly created reports
o Create technical specifications and documentation
