*Job Title: Mobile UI Designer* *Length:6 months* *Location: Chicago, IL* *Job Description:* Job Description: Our client has an immediate need for a UI Designer to work a 6 month contract position in Downer's Grove, IL. The UI designer will participate in a project that aims to convert portions of a mature, Java-based web application for use in a mobile browser. The target browser is Blackberry-based but the solution should also support access from any other mobile browser. A qualified candidate will understand the differences in mobile browsers and be able to pull from industry best practices. The end product is to design a user interface which allows users to access a subset of functionality from the source web application. *Responsibilities:* . Translate and optimize web application workflow for use in mobile platform . Apply User Interface design principles to generate designs, mock-ups and prototypes for mobile web based designs . Apply best practices for lowest common denominator support across disparate mobile platforms (emphasis on Blackberry mobile browser) . Collaborate with designers and product developers to maintain consistent look & feel across product lines . Collaborate with other usability experts for validation of designs .
