Must have sufficient educational background and/or experience to qualify incumbent to work on most phases of software development**. Five to Seven years of software development or experience in a related field is preferred**. A general understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software-development field is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff, as described above. Must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have extensive hands-on Java experience within an enterprise wide environment - **minimum 5 years of J2EE experience**. SUN-certified Java Developer for Java 2 is big plus**. Must have either higher education or certifications to get interview**. At least **4 years experience in Web-based and n-tier applications**. Minimum of **three years with JSP and servlets**. At least **two years of XML-based** applications. At least **2 years of SQL**. Minimum **one year of HTML** and Javascript. Familiarity with WebSphere and other similar application servers a plus.
