Rate: $39/hr all inclusive
Job Summary
This position is primarily a technical testing role working with an
integrated team of developers and other QA Analysts. The primary objective
is to drive the testing process from development and execution of test
scenarios to UAT Support. QA Analyst will also be responsible for performing
unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing
and batch process testing of various software products using test plans,
test scenarios and other tools developed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop detailed test scenarios & cases from business requirements and
technical specifications
Maintain traceability between test documentation and requirements
Execute test cases, report progress and issues in a timely and accurate
manner
Identify, record, and report defects
Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects, providing
development/business partners with sufficient detail to understand,
replicate and resolve the defect
Track defects to closure
Provide estimates and feedback to the QA Manager for project scheduling
purposes
Essential Job Skills/Abilities
Practical working knowledge of software testing methodology
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and with limited guidance
Exceptional analytic and problem solving skills
Superior documentation skills
Impressive organization skills and attention to details
Proven experience of testing complex user interfaces
Experience in testing DOS and Visual Basic applications
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new systems and keep up with changing
business logic
Skillful at dealing with high-volume, rapid software development cycles
Ability to use testing methodologies and testing tools effectively
Job Qualifications/Experience
5+ years experience in software testing and quality assurance
5+ years experience in testing DOS and Visual Basic applications
5+ years experience of testing Windows Software Applications / Database
applications
5+ years experience with SQL 2005/2008 specifically with writing queries and
scripts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007
Proficiency in using testing tools such as TestDirector and Quality Center
Knowledge of Retail Systems is must
