Response Time: Immediate Requirement: Title: Software Engineer Position: 2 Duration: 6 months initially Location: Rolling Meadows, IL Interview: Immediate Description: Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications, including web-based applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed systems, and works with the appropriate resources to resolve them. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures (IS41 system, call processing, signaling protocols, relational DBs and SQL queries). Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Requirements: - Must have a recent programming experience. Minimum 5 years of code writing experience. Call processing application preferred. - Must have solid knowledge of C programming language and at least one object oriented language (e.g. Visual Objects, C++). - Must have programming knowledge of SQL/Relational DBs (Oracle, Informix, etc.); not looking for a DB administration knowledge - Must have knowledge of one or more communications protocols (exposure to SS7 (TCAP, ISUP) and/or Radius or Diameter) - Must have programming knowledge of one of the following operating systems: Windows, Unix or an Unix derivative. Again, not looking for an OS administration knowledge - Must be able to trouble shoot software/communication systems. - Local Chicago area candidate strongly preferred. Essential Functions: Describe the Primary (P) and Secondary (S) functions of this job. Primary functions are those duties that must be performed: Develop and test application software in Windows 2003 environment for pre-paid services in IS41 network, utilizing the existing Visual Objects language codebase, per assignments from the Cricket IT Prepaid Services management. Must know a Visual Objects programming language or at least one/two other object oriented languages (e.g. C++) and programming principles. Interface with Oracle DB and code PL-SQL onto the DB and into the application source code. Develop scripts to modify DB entries and/or configuration. Configure test environment and run testing for legacy/new releases. Support and modify existing interfaces to an IS-41 based network to troubleshoot/enhance call control application associated with pre-paid service utilizing SS7 protocol stack. Support existing field releases as needed including evening/weekends. Research the conversion of selected parts of the existing codebase to the C programming language or other (e.g. C, C++, C# or Java). Thanks & Regards Acer Mc Entellects Corp.
