As a Senior Network Engineer this person will be responsible for networking operations and related infrastructure services on a regional and global perspective. As a senior resource your responsibilities will include defining best practices, leading design and architecture, engineering implementation and support activities, and being a mentor for more junior personnel. • This position will provide expert operational, administrative and project support of a complex enterprise voice and data network infrastructure. This environment includes, but is not limited to: Cisco VoIP, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco PIX and ASA firewalls, Cisco Secure ACS, MPLS WAN network, Cisco Wireless, F5 load balancers, DNS/BIND, Windows Active Directory and VPN design and administration. • The Sr. Network Engineer has a primary reporting relationship to the Manager, Infrastructure Services with a close relationship to the other technology groups. *Requirements: * • • Expert knowledge of Cisco’s Enterprise Unified Communication Platform (Call Manager, Unity, IPCC express). • Expert knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Router IOS and Cisco Switch OS. Specific knowledge and experience with the following Cisco products: Cisco Pix and ASA 5500 Series Firewalls, Cisco 65xx switch, Cisco 72xx routers. • Expert knowledge in enterprise-level networking with knowledge in TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF and BGPv4, etc). Specific knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and IP protocols in an MPLS Environment. • Expert knowledge with experience in firewall, VPN, IDS and proxy technology, design, deployment, and support with products from various vendors. • Expert knowledge with Layer 4-7 load balancers such as Cisco ACE/CSS, Citrix, F5 BigIP, or equivalent technology. Expert knowledge of Internet protocols and operation • Knowledge of Telco circuit management (POTS, ISDN, T1, PRI and BRI etc.) including VoIP and Application QOS. • Expert knowledge of Network management tools and software. Experience with network management platforms and protocols such as SNMP, RMON, MRTG, Cactii, and NetFlow. • Detailed knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Wireless infrastructure (LWAPP/WLC/WCS) and Enterprise wireless security (guest/internal networks, authentication mechanisms and protocols) • Detailed knowledge minimum 4 years providing Tier 2-3 or higher support for networking and security infrastructure and interfacing with vendor support organizations • Demonstrated ability to lead a team including the ability to instruct, encourage and mentor junior level engineers. • Staying abreast of security, networking and associated technologies while developing plans for leveraging them. • Participating in business development, platform architecture and cost estimation, capacity planning, availability, reliability nd performance metrics of the network. • Ability to provide escalation support for problems and issues hat cannot be resolved by junior level engineers while maintaining an ability to effectively delegate responsibilities over time. • Demonstrated incident management, change management, project management, problem solving, and leadership skills with an ability to promote effective team environments. • Ability to plan, document and manage multiple Technology projects & deadlines effectively with a minimum of supervision. • Ability to participate in shared 24/7 on-call schedule is a requirement. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be self-motivated, a strong team player and self-starter. *Experience: * • A minimum of 5-6 years experience with focused on data and voice networking in a Cisco environment. Experience in managing Voice over IP network is plus. • 5+ years of core switching, routing, MPLS, FWSM, and VLAN. Managed, troubleshoot and configure complex VLANs, WANs and networks. • In-depth knowledge of and experience with Cisco 28xx, 29xx, 35xx, 37xx, 38xx, 65xx and 72xx series platforms including supervisory and line cards. • Experience deploying and maintaining wide area networks with emphasis on IPSec, VPN and MPLS transport technologies and commonly used access technologies such as DS1/T1, E1, DS3, OC3. • 6+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting networking and security services in mission-critical, Unix/Linux centered, mission-critical production datacenter environments with a global focus. • Deep hands-on technical expertise in designing and building core networking hardware and software at 1Gbps & 10Gbps. • Networking and security architectural and engineering support experience across local, regional and global domains. • Advanced experience with network performance analysis troubleshooting & resolution of very complex routing problems via protocol analyzers, etc. • Experience in architecting, implementing and supporting new technologies and understanding of associated business implications. • The ideal candidate would also have excellent interpersonal skills, including expertise in translating between business needs and technical requirements.
