Position: Systems Administrator Location: Plano, TX Duration: 12 months Implements support processes, including hardware, software, and communications for server platforms. Responsible for monitoring, managing, and tuning the underlying hardware and operating system in a production and test environments. While this is typically a employee from the Client company, in outsourced or new installations, it could be an Company's or contract employee. Experienced as a systems programmer 4 - 6 years. Experienced in dealing with hardware issues - 3 years. Experienced in operations. Ability to read technical manuals. Ability to experiment with arcane procedures. Interface with operations, systems programming, help desk, DBAs, and application development. Interface with vendor support organization. Job Description: Job Title: Active Directory Solutions / Support Engineer The engineer will be required to support, implement, and design Active Directory and authentication systems by following the corporate policies, procedures as well as documented best practices for the entire enterprise environment, including domestic and international locations. The engineer will also be involved in R&D of new designs and technologies, monitoring/improving systems performance and maintaining disaster recovery readiness and procedures. This individual, as a member of the IT department has the overriding responsibility of identifying and streamlining tasks and processes that may be automated. Required : Unix / Windows NT Required Skills / Experience Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience supporting 'Wintel' environments. Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 experience is required. Proven, hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 is required. Engineering, implementation and configuration experience of enterprise scale, clustered and complex Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment is required Proven and demonstrated experienced supporting an enterprise messaging infrastructure (experience supporting 25,000+ end-user mailboxes is required.) Understanding of PowerShell including ability to demonstrate use of PowerShell for configuration of Ability to communicate about and describe migration activities from Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (changes between the two systems, challenges and benefits for implementing a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 platform). Strong troubleshooting skills and strong communication skills are required. Provide Tier III support for Exchange 2007 and integrated administration and support between Active Directory and Exchange 2007, Tier I/II escalation issues and analysis of troubleshooting requests. Ensuring backups, restores, and all regular / scheduled proactive and preventative maintenance activities in the Exchange 2007 environment are performed and verified.
Desired skills/experience: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 experience Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification, Microsoft Certified IT Professional Enterprise Administrator and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 certification (Enterprise Messaging Administrator) is desired.
