The Developer will work concentrating on key issues relating to
integration/maintenance/tuning/development of relational database management
systems.
Practical experience in the key disciplines of object-oriented software
engineering including OOA, OOD, OOP, and testing of OO systems is required.
Developer is required to have solid system engineering (e.g., technical and
application architectures, database, operating systems, networking, simple
system administration) skills in addition to database-oriented application
development skills.
Very strong working knowledge and heavy duty experience with Java as it
relates to database integration is also necessary.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle 10+ and MySQL 5+ is mandatory.
Strong working experience with Spring, Hibernate, and JDBC is necessary.
Working knowledge of ehcache or other Hibernate caching polices a plus.
Understanding of design patterns and agile software development
methodologies is preferred.
*Qualifications (background, education, experience, and other requirements)*
BS in Computer Science or related field required; MS in Computer Science or
related field preferred
6+ years of database development experience
2 years of Java/J2EE experience
5 years of RDBMS experience, especially Oracle and/or MySQL
At least two years experience with scripting (UNIX shell, Perl, etc)
2+ years experience with J2EE application servers
Expert in RDBMS, with a working knowledge of Hibernate and Hibernate Caching
strategies (ehcache).
Understanding of database design / modeling patterns and their practical
application
2 years experience building and delivering distributed systems that perform
critical business or operational functions, preferably in a real- or
near-real time environment
2+ or more years experience with digital video and audio systems development
is preferred
Experience with the tracing and tuning of database interactions (SQL) from
both applications and database
Experience versioning and formalizing the release of database changes to an
existing environment, and automating the same
