Title : Sybase and MS SQL Data Base Adminisrator
Location : Armonk, NY
Duration : 6 + months
Start Date : ASAP
Relevant Experience:
Senior DBAs with experience in both Sybase (12.5.4, 15.x) and MS SQL.
Technical/Functional Skills:
Sybase Database Administrator (12.5.x, 15.x) on AIX and Solaris platforms
MS SQL DBA.
Experience Required:
· Should have worked as Sybase DBA for 5+ years in Financial industry (Sybase 12.5.x, 15.x)
· Should have worked on migration of Sybase from 12.5.x to 15
· Should have handled Sybase in AIX and Solaris
· Should have working experience in MS SQL DBA experience but Sybase is priority
· Capable of doing assessments to the existing environments and operations, and propose improvements solution
. Should have good communication skills as users are based in the US, UK and Zurich.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Must handle:
· Base database/instance administration
· Schema/database/image copies
· Direct data changes/application code deployment which can’t be done with MyDS
· Rollout and month/quarter-end support for specific applications (portal, valuations/DSS, BoF, Tiger etc)
· Application decomissioning activities
· Base consultancy and performance issue analysis
· Instance Parameter & Option changes and general changes in the configuration set-up
· Single interface for OCC and Service desk
· Incident handling (Level2)
· Starting/stopping DSMW services (Instances/cluster-groups)
· Execute and follow-p on quality control and governance process
· Validate and maintain system health / QA checks / Secchecks and Sanity checks
· Keep inventories up2date (TGAD, IDIR, SDIE, DSTO, etc)
· Monitor disk capacity
· Continuos monitoring of vendor provisioning projects
· Risk-free application of security patches to the platform (CPU, SU, SPO, RSU)
· Risk-free application of update and minor versions upgrade to the platform
· General DB/Server infrastructure maintenance
· Monitor, Investigte, Engineer and package software updates
· Apply patches and upgrades to infrastructure
