* * *SQL DBA Architects * *Duration 4+ Months. * *Job Summary: *The Enterprise Database Architect is responsible for the advancement of strategic database architectures, and the ongoing research and development of technologies to realize the technological vision and emerging product features. This role provides advanced technical leadership in the form of enterprise-wide database planning, design, architecture analysis, data migration, data management, data security, system scalability, system availability, risk mitigation and implementation planning as well as creating and enforcing data best practices. *Job Duties/Responsibilities: * A successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and experience in the following areas: - Takes ownership of enterprise data architecture, database design, and data best practices. - Responsible for producing, publishing, and enforcing database development standards. - Responsible for reviewing and approving database designs presented by the development teams for implementation. - Creation and execution of a data management roadmap focusing on database performance, data retention, and data analytics. - Evaluate, recommend, and implement a database technology for our next generation database systems (including the need to incorporate a spatial database) - Evaluate, recommend, and implement an ETL tool for our enterprise data needs. - Responsible for creating and executing a data migration plan for the conversion of a legacy SQL server system to a new database system. - Takes ownership of design decisions; serves as the enterprise data architectural owner for application and platform development reviews; leads strategic technology initiatives, project architecture reviews, and systems design. - Researches emerging and enabling technologies to develop, document, and present technical solutions addressing specific business needs consistent with established requirements, and technical strategies. - Plan, build and execute detailed project plans including measurable milestones, specified goals and deliverables. *Required Experience:* - In-depth data modeling experience focusing on data warehousing, OLTP, and OLAP data structures, and data management design in a multi-petabyte data environment - Strong data analytics experience demonstrating skills with summarization, historical data mining, and a solid design approach for data presentation - Design and implementation experience with various ETL tools - Experience in ETL tool selection with a focus on validation of data integrity - Experience with database table partitioning to manage data growth, table optimization, and data retention/aging - Experience working in environments with large daily transaction volumes, where throughput and availability are important - Development of application performance thresholds and performance standards. Creation of performance metrics with processes and standards that enable/enforce compliance to performance thresholds - Experience with designing and implementing a multi-terabyte data migration plan - Demonstrate an understanding of environmental impacts of database changes - Experience with ITIL/SOX/SAS70 standards for change management enforcement.
