requirement for a Cognos Admin & Developer - Chicago, IL
Duration:4 months+
Job Description:
Support installation and configuration of Cognos software on Cognos
application servers
Support interaction between Cognos software and LDAP security software
(deployed by BCBSA) and Websphere software
Support development activities – from an administrator perspective, not as
a developer – conducted by BCBSA and a 3rd party development team
Migrate developed software, Cognos framework manager models, and other
Cognos artifacts within the various environments
Investigate and troubleshoot issues within the core Cognos environment in
the various environments
Start and stop Cognos software as needed
Monitor performance of software application
Make suggestions to enhance stability and/or performance of Cognos
application
Make configuration changes to Cognos environment to support same
Prepare the Cognos configuration manual
Design, develop, deploy and support high-profile Cognos reporting and
querying systems to enable end user access and analyze data across BHI
data marts
Develop data mapping specifications using pre-defined functional report
specifications
Develop test data
Unit test report programs
Provide support during string, system integration and user acceptance
testing
