*Job Description*:
We have a need for a Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator to join the Development
Infrastructure Operations team. This team is responsible for the
infrastructure that supports the software development and release
engineering environment before code changes are deployed to the client's
website. Support of the infrastructure includes the deployment and
management of Linux/Unix servers, performance tuning, building operating
system images, modifying DNS, Web server administration, allocating SAN
storage and creating VCS clusters. The team also works closely with Release
Engineering and the Source Code Management team during technology
evaluations to discuss feasibility and supportability of the proposed
implementation, and influence the design. This is an exciting opportunity to
help solve challenges for one of the fastest growing business on the
Internet.
*Requirements: *
- Must possess excellent, demonstrable problem solving skills.
- Minimum 7 years UNIX and Linux systems administration experience.
- Exhibits leadership qualities and strong procedural and architectural
documentation skills, experience with related tools (such as visio).
- Previous work experience in the development, release engineering,
source code management organization is a plus as well as providing support
within a large enterprise environment, preferably in a data center
environment.
*Experience with the following technologies. *
- 7-10 years of relevant experience Unix administration experience
- Minimum 7 years of strong Linux administration experience
- Solid fundamentals in Linux operating systems and prior experience
managing 100+ Linux servers personally
- Perl, php, bash/sh scripting
- Strong experience with Kickstart for Linux builds
- Netapp
- Solid understanding of networking principles
- Broad knowledge of common applications and technologies in Internet
computing (web servers, proxies, load balancers, etc)
- Hitachi array
- Brocade SAN switches
- VERITAS suite of products, e.g. Advanced VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM),
Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)
- Apache
- Bind 9
- F5 and Netscaler load balancers
- Support of clearcase
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum Experience (yrs): 7+
- Required Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
